TOUR OF MIDWEST CENTER
Welcome to Midwest Center for Youth and Families Providing Residential Treatment in a Comforting Environment
Since 1997, we have offered specialized residential treatment in a highly structured setting for children 6-18. Our trained staff provide services to help severely troubled children overcome behavioral, emotional, mental or psychological problems that have caused problems in family interactions and relationships, school achievement, peer groups and socialization. Our philosophy is to treat the child and family using an integrated plan, providing quality care and services. Families have the opportunity to learn the skills they need to have a better quality of life. The Our On-Grounds School mission is to provide students the opportunity for a continued quality education, in a stable environment, moving them forward to their next level of academic achievement.
Our year-round school curriculum is in line with the Indiana State Academic Standards. The Midwest Center for Youth and Families campus is located on 5 acres of prairie land. The campus features a serene and secure setting that is conducive to healing. We are a 58 bed short or long-term residential facility and offer behavioral health services for youth ages 6-18.
We design treatment based upon each individual’s needs using a multidisciplinary approach consisting of physicians, therapists, nurses, teachers and behavioral health workers.
The program is ideally suited for someone leaving an acute care environment. Midwest Center for Youth and Families offers activity groups on music, art and teambuilding Students can enjoy basketball and other recreational activities in our indoor gym. Our 24-hour licensed nursing care is in a safe, locked and secure facility. Midwest Center is JCAHO accredited and our on-site staff includes a board-certified psychiatrist, masters level psychotherapists and licensed teachers. We utilize a more individual approach and have a 1:4 staff to patient ratio.
