REFERRING
PROFESSIONALS
Admission Criteria:
• 6-18 years of age male or female
• Behavioral, emotional or psychiatric problems that require treatment
in a locked, secure setting
• Patterns of persistent disruptive behaviors
• Self-harming/suicidal tendencies that would not require acute
hospitalization
• Substance abuse secondary to emotional/psychiatric issues
• IQ of 65 and above
• History of failed treatment attempts which may include previous acute
care inpatient visits
• Clinical Criteria also include:
• Depression
• BiPolor
• Oppositional Defiance Disorder
• Severe ADHD
• Pervasively Developmentally Delayed
• Minor Autism/Aspergers
Exclusionary Criteria:
• Severe psychiatric disorder in need of acute hospitalization
• Physical handicaps which limit the child’s ability to participate in
the program
• IQ below 65
• Severe medical illness, severe diabetes, epilepsy, hemophilia, severe
food allergies, severe enuresis or encopresis
• Pregnancy
• Chronic violent behavior
• Conduct Disorder that cannot work in a pro-social environment
