Zach Glassburn

Zach Glassburn, Chief Executive Officer

Zach Glassburn comes to Midwest Center & South Shore with nearly 10 years of experience in the mental health and health care fields. He graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a degree in Health Administration. As a Chief Operations Officer, Zach brings a variety of experience to Midwest Center, and is happy to be a part of a facility with a history of excellence. “Everyone at Midwest Center & South Shore has a strong dedication to improving the lives of all children and adolescents that walk our halls. I feel the same, and will ensure everyone is provided with the tools necessary to excel in their positions.”


Dr. John Zwerneman, Psychiatrist

Dr. Zwerneman became Midwest Center’s Medical Director in 2013 and has been practicing psychiatry for over 18 years. He received his undergraduate degree at New Mexico State University and attended medical school at the University of North Carolina. He also has extensive experience as a medical missionary in various countries including Israel and Grenada. Dr. Zwerneman says he “enjoys sharing his knowledge and skills with children, adolescents and their families, and watching their lives improve.”


Dr. Robert Raster, Psychiatrist

Dr. Raster became South Shore Medical Director in 2013 and has over 19 years of experience. He completed his undergraduate study at University of Notre Dame in 1988, attended medical school at Wayne State University in 1992, and completed his Psychiatry Residency at Northwestern in 1996. He has also earned his certification as a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Raster loves the interesting work he does at South Shore and the capable staff he gets to interact with on a daily basis. “They make my job a lot easier,” he says, “I am lucky to work daily doing what I love, and the staff is a big reason why I walk through the doors with a smile on my face.”


Dr. Mallikarjun Patta, Psychiatrist

Dr. Patta joined Midwest Center in 2013. He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Degrees from Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. He later received his Master of Medical Sciences at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom, and performed his residency in Psychiatry at the University of Chicago Hospitals. He is board certified in general psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine, and his work has appeared in various publications, including the British Journal of Psychiatry and Psychiatric Times. It is rewarding for Dr. Patta to, “collaborate with my professional and dedicated colleagues at Midwest Center.”


Jeremy Pape, MSW, LCSW, Clinical Director

Jeremy Pape came to Midwest Center & South Shore in 2013 with over 18 years of experience working with children, adolescents and their families in the behavioral health field. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Purdue University, and his Master’s in Social Work at University of Illinois at Chicago. He has served as a mental health therapist/social worker in a variety of settings including community and school-based mental health as well as residential and acute care settings. Jeremy finds it very rewarding “when children and their families are able to work together to overcome their challenges so they can return to being a family again.”


Melinda Wicks, MA, Director of Intake

Melinda Wicks has been with Midwest Center & South Shore since 2010, sharing her talents as an Intern, Therapist, Intake Specialist, and now as the Director of Intake. Melinda earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Olivet Nazarene University and her Master’s Degree from Valparaiso University. She dedicates herself to “families and children who feel as though they have exhausted all of their options.” She wants to be able to give families the confidence to feel they’re making the right decision when choosing treatment for their children at Midwest Center & South Shore.

Roberta Woods, BS, MS, Director of Education

Roberta Woods has been our Principal since 2007. Our school, Midwest Academy, is a fully accredited, on-ground school, and has been in operation since 2005. She has her Bachelor’s Degree from Ball State University and her Master’s Degree from Florida Atlantic University. Roberta also has an endorsement in English for Speakers of Other Languages from NOVA Southeastern University. Prior to serving as an Administrator, she taught Special Education to students at all grade levels. Roberta says she enjoys dedicating herself to “helping children accomplish their goals—both academically and therapeutically, at Midwest Center & South Shore.”
