Mental illnesses can be complex and may require intensive treatment.  We recognize that each family has a need for healing and growth. With proper help and treatment, people with complex mental illness can recover and create a life worth living. With this in mind, treatment at Midwest Center for Youth and Families is grounded in these basic principles:

We believe in partnering with families to strengthen the family unit

We believe in walking together with the child to help them create a life worth living

We believe in delivering compassionate service to our residents and families

Midwest Center for Youth and Families is invested in providing an evidence-based  program called Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).  The philosophy behind DBT teaches us that while forces may seem to be in contradiction to one another, peace is found in the balance.  It is not about being right, it is about being effective. Skill building is at the heart of DBT. Our programming teaches youth the skills they need to become effective in the every day journey of life.
